Engineering cooperation between Qarabağ University and Istanbul Technical University is being expanded, with dual-degree programs, student and faculty exchanges, joint research and engineering infrastructure planned.

A new phase has begun in higher-education cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, expanding engineering collaboration between Qarabağ University and Istanbul Technical University.

According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a decision on August 27, 2026 concerning the establishment of academic units linked to Istanbul Technical University within Qarabağ University.

The cooperation is intended to develop engineering teaching and training activities, scientific research and relevant educational infrastructure.

The ministry says the cooperation is expected to include future dual-degree programs, student and faculty exchanges and joint scientific research projects.

The development is worth monitoring for future applicants interested in engineering education in Azerbaijan. However, specific dual-degree majors, admission requirements and application dates have not yet been announced.
